Asheville City Council schedules August 26 public meeting with remote access options

The Asheville City Council will hold its next meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26. The session is scheduled to take place in the Council Chamber on the second floor of City Hall, located at 70 Court Plaza.

The agenda for the meeting is available on the City’s website. According to North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.10, this meeting will be conducted in person but can also be accessed remotely by members of the public.

Residents can watch a live stream of the proceedings via the City’s YouTube Channel or through the Virtual Engagement Hub accessible from the main page of the City’s website.

Those wishing to speak during the meeting must attend in person and sign up at the door before entering the Council Chamber. Public comments may also be emailed to ashevillenccouncil@ashevillenc.gov at any time.

Interpretive services are available for individuals attending in person who require them. Requests for interpretation must be submitted using a designated form by 5 p.m. on the Friday prior to the meeting.

Anyone planning to present slides or PowerPoint materials must submit their presentation to Maggie Burleson at mburleson@ashevillenc.gov by noon on the day before the meeting.

For those unable to participate in person, remote comments will continue to be accepted via email or voicemail through the Engagement Hub until 9 a.m. on August 26. Email comments can be sent to ashevillecitycouncilaug262025@publicinput.com and voicemails may be left at 855-925-2801 with meeting code 11607.

Free parking will be offered after 4:30 p.m. on August 26 in two city employee parking lots along Marjorie Street for those attending: one lot is located at 55 Valley Street and another at 17 Marjorie Street.
