Asheville City Council schedules October 14 public meeting with remote access options

The Asheville City Council will hold its next meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, in the Council Chamber on the second floor of City Hall, located at 70 Court Plaza. The agenda for the meeting is available on the City’s website.

In accordance with North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.10, this meeting will be conducted in person but can also be accessed remotely by the public. The meeting will be live-streamed on the City’s YouTube Channel and through the Virtual Engagement Hub, which can be reached from the front page of the City website.

Members of the public who wish to speak during the meeting must attend in person and sign up at the door before entering the Council Chamber. Comments may also be emailed to Council at ashevillenccouncil@ashevillenc.gov.

Interpretive services are available upon request for those participating in person. Requests should be made using a designated form by 5 p.m. on the Friday before the meeting.

Anyone planning to make a slide or PowerPoint presentation during the formal session must submit their materials to Maggie Burleson at mburleson@ashevillenc.gov by noon on the day before the meeting.

To accommodate those unable to attend in person, remote comments can still be submitted via email or voicemail through the Engagement Hub until 9 a.m. on October 14. Email comments should be sent to ashevillecitycounciloct142025@publicinput.com and voicemail comments can be left at 855-925-2801 using meeting code 12063.

Free parking will be provided for attendees in two city employee lots along Marjorie Street after 4:30 p.m. These include lots at 55 Valley Street and 17 Marjorie Street.
