City of Asheville issued the following announcement on Jan. 6.

The next meeting of the Asheville City Council will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023. The meeting will be held in City Hall, 70 Court Plaza on the second floor.

Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.10 this will be an in-person meeting which the public can also access remotely by any of the following means found at : https://publicinput.com/n7387 

Prior to the City Council Meeting:

PRIOR to the formal meeting on January 10, City Council will be holding pre-arranged interviews for the Asheville City Schools Board of Education beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, located on the 2nd Floor of City Hall.  The Interviews  are scheduled below and will be live streamed to the City YouTube Channel.  

Where to Watch

The City Council meeting will be live on Charter/Spectrum Channel 193, streamed on the City’s YouTube Channel, or through the City’s Virtual Engagement Hub  accessible through the front page of the City website.

In-Person Comment

Persons wishing to speak live at the meeting will be required to attend in person and must sign-up at the door before entering the Council Chamber.  

Additionally, comments can be directly emailed to Council at any time at ashevillenccouncil@ashevillenc.gov.

Presentations at the Meeting

For those wishing to make a slide or PowerPoint presentation at a formal meeting of City Council, the presentation must be submitted to Maggie Burleson at mburleson@ashevillenc.gov by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023.  

Email and Voicemail Comments

To accommodate those who do not yet feel secure attending in person, or those who have other barriers to participating in person, City Council will continue to accept remote comments via email or voicemail through the Engagement Hub until 9 a.m. the day of the City Council meeting.

Parking Available 

If you are attending the City Council meeting, free parking will be available in the two city employee parking lots along Marjorie Street after 4:30 p.m. the day of the meeting.

  • Marjorie St. Parking Lot at 17 Marjorie Street
