City of Asheville Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 10.

Asheville Police Department Detectives and Officers arrested a man Tuesday afternoon on gun and drug charges while conducting crime prevention measures as a result of the recent spike in shooting incidents. During the arrest, the man was found to be in possession of guns, extended magazines, and drugs.  A juvenile was also involved.

Remy Rasheen Staley (11/5/2002) was arrested in south Asheville around 1:53 p.m. and charged with the following:

-Carrying a Concealed Gun-Felony Possession of Schedule VI-Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule Schedule VI-Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule a Controlled   Substance within 1,000ft of a Park-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Seized:-Radical Firearms RF-15 AR pistol (.223 cal)-Hatsan Escort BTS12 shotgun (12 ga.)-Glock 19X w/ extended magazine (9mm)-96.17 grams of marijuana

Staley was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility Friday under a $20,000 secured bond (or $2,000 to a bondsman) issued by the magistrate.
