CITY OF ASHEVILLE: West Walnut St. and Rankin Ave. Garage Entrance – Closure on Monday, August 1, 2022

City of Asheville issued the following announcement on July 27.

From approximately 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022 West Walnut Street will be fully closed between Haywood Street and Rankin Avenue.

The West Walnut entrance to the Rankin Avenue Garage will be unavailable for use during this time period. 

The second Rankin Avenue Garage entrance (located at approximately 12 Rankin Avenue) will remain open.

The closure will allow Baker Roofing Company to use a crane at 84 West Walnut Street to lift roofing materials onto the top of the building at 43 Haywood Street.
