County of Haywood issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.

A Notice of Public Hearing on January 3, 2023 at 5:30pm concerning the Haywood County CDBG-CV grant funding for the Haywood County Armory in Clyde was mistakenly published in The Mountaineer on December 18, 2022.

Haywood County was unaware of the publication and had not announced a Public Hearing for the Armory.  McGill Associates regrets the error and apologizes for any inconvenience.

There will not be a Public Hearing on January 3, 2023.

The CDBG-CV funds are being used to renovate the Armory for temporary emergency shelter during times of natural disasters and pandemic, for an Emergency Management Ambulance base for the Clyde area, and for classrooms and recreation space.
