County of Haywood issued the following announcement on Mar. 21.

The Haywood County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill the following positions on the Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency Board of Directors:
A pharmacist member, to begin serving upon appointment. Requirements for the position are that the candidate have qualifications as a pharmacist and reside in Haywood County. Current and retired pharmacists are encouraged to apply. The candidate will be filling a 4-year term that expires May 17, 2026.  At that time, first-term candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term.
A veterinarian member, to begin serving upon appointment.  Requirements for the position are that the candidate have qualifications as a veterinarian and reside in Haywood County.  Current and retired veterinarians are encouraged to apply. The candidate will be filling a 4-year term that expires May 17, 2026. At that time, first-term candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term.
An optometrist member to begin serving upon appointment. Requirements for the position are that the candidate have qualifications as an optometrist and reside in Haywood County. Current and retired optometrists are encouraged to apply. The candidate will be filling a 4-year term that expires May 17, 2026. At that time, first-term candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term.
The deadline for applications for all 3 positions is 5 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2022.
Application forms may be downloaded from the “How Do I…Submit Volunteer Board or Committee Application” section of the county website at https://www.haywoodcountync.gov/9/How-Do-I   or picked up from the County Manager’s office from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, at the Haywood County Courthouse, third floor, 215 North Main Street, Waynesville.  
Completed applications may be returned to the County Manager’s Office or attached to an email to Amy Stevens, Deputy Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, at amy.stevens@haywoodcountync.gov.
