Jade Dundas has been named Assistant City Manager for the City of Asheville, effective immediately. Dundas previously served as Interim Assistant City Manager and has held several leadership positions within the city since joining in 2015.

City Manager Debra Campbell commented on Dundas’s appointment, stating, “Jade has done an exceptional job serving in the role of Interim Assistant City Manager.  He brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and leadership experience that has strengthened our organization. His ability to collaborate across departments and focus on solutions has been especially vital in our Helene recovery efforts. I am confident in his continued leadership to serve in this role.”

Dundas began his tenure with Asheville as Water Resources Director before moving into roles such as Capital Management Director and twice serving as Interim Assistant City Manager, most recently since February 2025. His leadership was noted during the city’s response to Tropical Storm Helene.

“It has been an honor to serve the City of Asheville over the past decade in a variety of roles,” said Jade Dundas. “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to continuing to support our community, our employees, and the important work ahead as Assistant City Manager.”

The city acknowledged Dundas’s contributions during key projects and recent recovery efforts, encouraging community members to congratulate him on his new role.
