55 percent of applicants to Montreat College were admitted for fall 2018

At Montreat College, 76 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 50 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Montreat enrolled 921 students in fall 2018, including 795 in undergraduate and 126 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

57 percent of undergraduates are residents of North Carolina, and 41 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (66 percent) and Black or African American (13 percent).

The school admitted 55 percent of the 940 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 29 percent enrolled.
