TOWN OF MAGGIE VALLEY: Planning Board Vacancy 2022

Vacancies

Town of Maggie Valley issued the following announcement on Jan. 17.

Are you a Maggie Valley Resident who is interested in Land Use, Development Regulation, and Zoning?

The Planning Board is an Advisory Board that aids the Board of Aldermen in making decisions that involve adopted planning documents, land development codes, and the zoning map. The Planning Board is also the single authority in granting subdivision approval. The Town of Maggie Valley seeks volunteers to serve on the Planning Board to involve the community in long-range planning, assist the Aldermen in achieving the Town’s adopted plans for orderly growth and development, and help manage land use. Our boards provide an opportunity for community members to share in the decision-making processes that shape our community.

The Planning Board usually meets at 5:30 PM on the 2nd Thursday of each month. No Experience Necessary.  The Town will provide training to ensure your success. Apply by January 31 for assured consideration.

Here’s what you give –

o       Serve as an advocate for the Town of Maggie Valley

o       Provide feedback to the Board of Aldermen

o       Ensure effective planning, monitoring, and strengthening of programs and services

And, what you get in return –

o       An opportunity to shape the community

o       A chance to analyze, evaluate, and recommend responsible town policies, ordinances, and planning standards
