Taylor Jenkins joins Haywood Regional Medical Center gastroenterology team

Haywood Regional Medical Center announced on April 27 that Taylor Jenkins, FNP-BC, has joined its medical staff as a gastroenterology provider. Jenkins will be seeing patients at Mountain Medical Associates in Clyde alongside Filberto Colon, MD and Mallory Meiners, PA-C.

Jenkins brings experience in primary care, emergency medicine, and perioperative nursing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Carolina University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Jenkins worked as a perioperative registered nurse at Harris Regional Hospital and also served in an emergency department at a Level II trauma center.

Jenkins developed her interest in gastroenterology through her clinical work and her focus on wellness and nutrition. The press release notes that she values building relationships with patients to help them make sustainable changes for their health. Originally from Conway, North Carolina, she has lived in western North Carolina for nearly ten years.
