TOWN OF BLACK MOUNTAIN: Town Water Administration brings new integrated payment technology to the citizens of Black Mountain

0Comments

Town of Black Mountain issued the following announcement on Dec. 2.

The town of Black Mountain is pleased to announce we implemented new integrated payment options for citizens to pay their water bills!

There are now multiple options to pay the monthly utility bill without having to mail in or go to the payment office. Previously when the payments were received, the staff would have to open, process, manually input the payment information then stamp and deposit all the checks. These processes were very time-consuming and had the potential for errors. The new integrated payment options will allow customers to see balances in real time and payments made via the payment portal will be shown immediately on the customer’s account.

Customers may visit the Town’s website and click the “Online Bill Pay” icon at the bottom of the page which will link to the NEW Online Payments page. By registering for an account, each customer can access their account and make their payment, see their billing history, see their usage history, add a credit card, and set up Auto-Pay which will automatically charge when the bill is due. Customers also may dial a 24-hour toll-free number to pay their bill, 1-888-687-2922, which will eliminate the need to come in person to pay and allow more efficient use of staff time and resources. Through the 24-hour toll-free number a customer can also sign up for Text-to-Pay, which texts you when your bill is ready with the amount, all you need to do is reply when you are ready to pay.

The Customer Service Division of Black Mountain is offering these options to increase services to the citizens, streamline the payment process, and help eliminate issues that may have incurred in the past.

The Town realizes that there have been past issues with paperless billing. With the update of our utility system, we also changed the bill print provider and have addressed those issues. The online payment portal also allows you to view past bills, update contact information, and sign up for multiple account alerts.  The Town of Black Mountain encourages customers to sign up for our new and improved paperless billing and try the payment portal.
