Madison County students will begin classes with in-person introduction and a chance to pick up school equipment, but after that students will spend the weeks of Aug. 24 to Sept. 14 learning remotely — as the school system works around concerns regarding a recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the county.
Yet, as parents try to figure out how to balance work against a constantly varying school schedule, responses from families has been mixed, WLOS ABC 13 reported on Aug. 10.
One parent, Misha Hosh, told ABC 13 News that she is ready to have her children back in school. "I'm not really that concerned that much," she said.
Yet, others, such as Sharon Ball, whose son has cerebral palsy, are hoping to have the school system go to full-time online instruction.
"It just seems like we're taking too big of a risk to let these guys go back at the present time," Ball told 13 News. "Especially these guys, because if they get sick, they can't fight it off. "
