The Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) team has introduced a new initiative to keep residents informed about local activities and events. Responding to community feedback, APR will now offer newsletters tailored to specific interests.

For years, APR's monthly newsletter has provided general updates on news and programs. The latest development aims to streamline the information based on audience preferences.

APR is launching three targeted newsletters:

1. "APR Parents & Families" focuses on family-friendly events, playground updates, and activities for children of all ages.

2. "APR Active Adults" caters to individuals aged 50 and above with fitness classes, social gatherings, and educational workshops.

3. "APR Outdoors" provides details for outdoor enthusiasts interested in hikes, fishing classes, and nature-related activities.

Residents can manage their subscription preferences by selecting the newsletters that align with their interests. APR emphasizes its commitment to providing accessible information about beneficial programs and resources.

To sign up or provide feedback on the new offerings, community members are encouraged to contact APR via email at parks@ashevillenc.gov.

Additionally, APR’s current Program Guide is available in both English and Spanish. Many programs require advance registration due to high demand.
