94 percent of applicants to the University of North Carolina at Asheville were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of North Carolina at Asheville, 81 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 57 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Asheville enrolled 3,762 students in fall 2018, including 3,743 in undergraduate and 19 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

84 percent of undergraduates are residents of North Carolina, and 15 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (76 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (8 percent).

The school admitted 94 percent of the 3,219 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 26 percent enrolled.
