County of Buncombe issued the following announcement on Jan. 15.
A major winter storm is expected to hit this weekend, with precipitation beginning this evening. Travel is predicted to be difficult to impossible. Plan and prepare now to limit non-essential trips!
Build an emergency kit
Charge your electronic devices
Check your heat sources to ensure they're working efficiently
Fill a bathtub if you use an independent water source
Bring your furry friends in from the cold
Ensure you have enough non-perishable food on hand
