The Asheville City Council is set to convene for its next meeting on Tuesday, February 25, at 5 p.m. The session will take place in the Council Chamber located on the second floor of City Hall at 70 Court Plaza. The agenda for the meeting has been made available on the city's official website.

In accordance with North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.10, this meeting will be held in person but can also be accessed remotely by the public.

A significant portion of this meeting will be dedicated to a special public comment opportunity regarding the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget. This is part of the initial planning process and provides a platform for community members to influence funding priorities, especially important as Asheville continues its recovery from Tropical Storm Helene.

The City Manager's Proposed Budget, which will be presented on May 13, will incorporate feedback gathered during this early comment period and guidance from the City Council.

For those unable to attend in person, comments can be submitted via email or voicemail until 9 a.m. on February 25. Emails should be sent to ashevillecitycouncilfeb252025@publicinput.com and voicemails can be left at 855-925-2801 using meeting code: 11061.

The meeting will also be live-streamed through the City's YouTube Channel and Virtual Engagement Hub accessible from the city’s website homepage.

Individuals wishing to speak live must attend in person and register upon arrival at the Council Chamber. Additionally, comments may always be emailed directly to ashevillenccouncil@ashevillenc.gov.

Interpretation services are available upon request for those attending in person who require them; requests should be submitted by Friday before the meeting via a form provided by the city.

Presentations such as slides or PowerPoints intended for formal presentation must be sent to Maggie Burleson at mburleson@ashevillenc.gov by noon on February 24.

Free parking is offered for attendees in two city employee parking lots along Marjorie Street after 4:30 p.m., specifically at Valley St. Parking Lot (55 Valley Street) and Marjorie St. Parking Lot (17 Marjorie Street).
