County of Buncombe issued the following announcement on Mar. 21.
March 26-April 2 Buncombe County Special Collections will be open by appointment only to allow staff to work on special projects.
Patrons may schedule an appointment by contacting Special Collections staff at packnc@buncombecounty.org.
Appointments will be limited to two hours and must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.
BCSC will be closed for one week on a quarterly basis to ensure staff has ample time to complete a backlog of archival work. Special Collections staff will be working hard in the archives during these quarterly closures. Special Collections staff care for thousands of unique historical documents, so it is critical that our staff have plenty of time to arrange, describe, and conserve these precious materials.
