Asheville City Council announces November public meeting details

The Asheville City Council is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 5 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Council Chamber located on the second floor of City Hall at 70 Court Plaza.

The agenda for the meeting has been posted on the city's official website. According to North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.10, this will be an in-person meeting with options for remote access.

For those interested in viewing the meeting remotely, it will be broadcast live on Charter/Spectrum Channel 193 and streamed on the city’s YouTube Channel. Additionally, it can be accessed through the City's Virtual Engagement Hub via their website's front page.

Individuals wishing to make comments during the meeting must attend in person and sign up at the door before entering the chamber. Comments can also be sent directly via email to ashevillenccouncil@ashevillenc.gov at any time.

Interpretive services are available upon request for those attending in person. Requests must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024.

For those planning to make a slide or PowerPoint presentation during the formal session of the City Council meeting, submissions should be emailed to Maggie Burleson at mburleson@ashevillenc.gov by noon the day before the meeting.

To accommodate individuals who prefer not to attend in person or face barriers preventing attendance, remote comments are being accepted via email or voicemail until 9 a.m. on the day of the meeting. Email comments can be sent to ashevillecitycouncilnov122024@publicinput.com while voicemail messages can be left at 855-925-2801 using meeting code: 3198.

Free parking for attendees will be available after 4:30 p.m. in two city employee parking lots along Marjorie Street: Valley St. Parking Lot at 55 Valley Street and Marjorie St. Parking Lot at 17 Marjorie Street.
