City of Asheville issued the following announcement on May 30.
The next meeting of the Community Reparations Commission will take place 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2022 at Harrah’s Cherokee Center, 87 Haywood Street

The Community Reparations Commission is empowered to make short, medium, and long-term recommendations that will make significant progress toward repairing the damage caused by public and private systemic racism. The task of the Reparations Commission is to issue a report in a timely manner for consideration by the City and other participating community groups for incorporation into their respective short-term and long-term priorities and plans.
Where to Watch
The public is welcome to attend sessions in person.
To accommodate those who do not yet feel secure attending in person, or those who have other barriers to participating in person the Community Reparations Commission will be streamed on the City’s Engagement Hub and on Buncombe County’s Facebook page.
