The Travel Training Committee is actively seeking input from individuals over the age of 50 on public transit. The committee aims to understand preferences, challenges, and suggestions from this demographic to identify key areas for improvement that will guide future recommendations and projects.

In a statement, the committee emphasized the importance of community input, stating, "Your input is invaluable in shaping the future of public transportation and ensuring that it meets the needs of our community effectively."

The primary objective of the Travel Training Committee, a subcommittee of the Asheville Regional Transit Coalition (ARTC), is to redesign public transit services to better cater to the needs of the community. This includes initiatives such as making transit systems more accessible and implementing user-friendly information systems to simplify the travel experience for older adults.

Individuals who wish to provide feedback or have questions regarding the Travel Training Committee or the ongoing survey are encouraged to reach out to Michael Wackerly, Volunteer Transit Specialist for AARP North Carolina Mountain Region. Wackerly can be contacted via email at wackerlym@gmail.com.
