The City of Asheville’s Neighborhood Advisory Committee has initiated a new monthly Volunteer Spotlight program to recognize outstanding individuals who contribute significantly to their local community.

According to the announcement, nominations for exceptional neighborhood volunteers will be accepted continuously, with one volunteer being chosen each month for recognition in the Neighborhood Newsletter and various media outlets. The Committee emphasized that if a nominee is not selected in the month of their initial nomination, their nomination will still be considered in the following months.

Furthermore, at the conclusion of each year, up to three exceptional volunteers will be named Volunteers of the Year. These distinguished individuals will be honored during a City Council meeting and highlighted across various media platforms.

The program aims to showcase and celebrate the selfless efforts of community members who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in Asheville.

The Neighborhood Advisory Committee's initiative reflects a commitment to acknowledging and appreciating the dedication of local volunteers who play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life within Asheville.

The nomination form for the Volunteer Spotlight program can be accessed through the provided link for those interested in recognizing individuals who make a difference in their neighborhoods.
