Andy Guzy, a coordinator focused on graphic design and marketing, joined the Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) team in 2021. In an interview as part of the APR Innovators series, Guzy shared insights into his contributions and experiences within the department.

Guzy expressed pride in providing consistent and reliable design services that help community members stay informed about various programs and events. "It’s very fulfilling to provide consistent and reliable design services for our team, so that community members are aware of the many programs and events we offer," he stated.

Working for APR has allowed Guzy to witness the positive impact of his colleagues' efforts. "I get to experience firsthand a lot of good work from my APR coworkers, as well as others within the City of Asheville," he noted.

Professionally, Guzy has grown by embracing new experiences and applying his skills in innovative ways. "Joining the APR team has given me the opportunity to learn and grow by experiencing new things, as well as applying my experience in new and exciting ways," he said.

Outside of work, Guzy enjoys coaching sports teams at his children’s schools, spending time with family and friends, and attending Asheville Tourists games.

Reflecting on his role at APR, Guzy remarked, "I work for Asheville Parks & Recreation because…I want to help fellow community members understand all the good things that we have access to in Asheville through APR."
