Asheville City Council meeting on June 11 moved to new venue

The City of Asheville has announced a change of venue for the upcoming City Council meeting scheduled for June 11, 2024. The meeting will now take place at Harrah’s Cherokee Center Banquet Hall, maintaining the regular start time of 5:00 p.m.

All standard features such as live-streaming, in-person comments, interpretation upon request, presentations, and email and voicemail comments will remain available to the public. Details regarding these features will be posted on the City News website and City of Asheville social media platforms on Friday, June 7.

The specifics are as follows:

- Date: June 11, 2024

- Time: 5:00 p.m.

- Location: Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville Banquet Hall, 87 Haywood St

In light of the venue change, free parking will be provided in the Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville garage for attendees. The entrance to the garage is located at 68 Rankin Ave.

To utilize free parking:

1. Pull a ticket from the kiosk when entering the garage and bring it to the meeting.

2. Obtain a barcode sticker from the public comment sign-in desk upon entering or departing the meeting.

3. Place this barcode sticker on the back of your parking ticket.

4. When exiting, first scan the standard parking ticket barcode at the departure kiosk followed by scanning the barcode sticker. This process will allow you to exit without charge.
