Asheville City Council plans next meeting with remote access options

The Asheville City Council is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 5 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Council Chamber located on the second floor of City Hall at 70 Court Plaza. The agenda for this session is available on the City's official website.

In compliance with North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.10, this will be an in-person meeting with options for remote public access. Interested individuals can watch the live broadcast on Charter/Spectrum Channel 193 or stream it via the City’s YouTube Channel and Virtual Engagement Hub.

For those wishing to provide live comments during the meeting, attendance in person is necessary. Participants must register upon arrival before entering the Council Chamber. Alternatively, comments can be emailed directly to the Council at ashevillenccouncil@ashevillenc.gov.

Interpretive services are available upon request for attendees who require them. Requests must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 18, using a designated form.

Individuals planning to make presentations at the meeting should submit their materials to Maggie Burleson at mburleson@ashevillenc.gov by noon on Monday, October 21.

To support community members unable or unwilling to attend in person, email and voicemail comments will be accepted through the Engagement Hub until 9 a.m. on the day of the meeting. Email submissions should be sent to ashevillecitycounciloct222024@publicinput.com, while voicemail messages can be left at 855-925-2801 using meeting code: 7354.

Free parking for attendees is available after 4:30 p.m. in two city employee parking lots located along Marjorie Street: Valley St. Parking Lot at 55 Valley Street and Marjorie St. Parking Lot at 17 Marjorie Street.
