The City of Asheville is advancing the process to find a Service Provider for its Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) after extending the proposal deadline due to Hurricane Helene. The Request for Proposal (RFP), initially released on September 20, 2024, has seen its timeline adjusted with a final addendum posted on October 31, which includes responses to submitted questions.

Proposals from prospective Service Providers are now due by November 13, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The chosen provider will oversee services in areas such as safety and hospitality, enhanced cleaning, and special projects aimed at improving downtown's appeal.

Community input has played a significant role in shaping service priorities within the RFP's Scope of Work. The selected provider will work towards creating an inclusive downtown environment that engages local businesses and residents. Objectives include enhancing public safety and cleanliness while fostering business activity and attracting investment.

Interested parties can find submission details and selection criteria in the official RFP document available on the City's Purchasing/Bid Opportunities page. For further information or updates on the BID services implementation, individuals are encouraged to visit the project page.
