Two re-elected councilwomen and one new councilmember took their oaths of office on December 2. Kim Roney, Sage Turner, and Roberto (Bo) Hess were sworn in by Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Alan Z. Thornburg at City Hall's Council Chambers.

Before the ceremony, Mayor Esther Manheimer presented a Resolution of Appreciation to outgoing Councilmember and Vice President Sandra Kilgore. Kilgore expressed gratitude to her fellow council members and stated her intention to continue serving the community.

Following the swearing-in, Hess, Roney, and Turner each spoke about the honor and privilege of serving Asheville residents.

In a brief organizational meeting, Antanette Mosley was unanimously elected as Vice Mayor by the Council.

The new City Council is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. on December 10. The agenda will be available on the City of Asheville website.
