The City of Asheville has announced updates concerning its advisory and quasi-judicial boards. According to the city's statement, all advisory boards staffed by city employees will remain suspended until further notice. This suspension will continue at least until after the City Council retreat, scheduled for mid-February 2025. The city promises to keep the public informed as new information becomes available.

In contrast, quasi-judicial boards will resume their regular meeting schedules starting January 1, 2025. The boards that will recommence operations include the Planning & Zoning Commission, Asheville-Buncombe Historic Resources Commission, Board of Adjustment, and Civil Service Board.

"The City recognizes the importance of these boards in supporting Asheville," a spokesperson stated. They emphasized their commitment to keeping the public informed with timely updates regarding any changes to board schedules or operations.
