Town of Black Mountain issued the following announcement on Nov. 2.
Bring your Halloween pumpkins out to the Dr. John Wilson Community Garden for our annual PumpkinPOST event! Attendees can smash their own carved pumpkins to be used as compost in the garden or donate edible ones back to Bounty & Soul. Complimentary hot chocolate and hot cider from Four Sisters Bakery will be available while supplies last (please bring your own cup).
Live acoustic music will be performed by Syrrup, a jazz/soul duo from Asheville. A composting workshop will also take place by community garden volunteers between 3:00-3:20 p.m.
Please remove all candle wax, metal, and plastic from your donated pumpkins. Protective eye ware and mallets will be provided by Black Mountain Recreation.
