Asheville discusses $225 million disaster relief funding on local radio show

The City of Asheville is utilizing its bi-monthly radio show, "What’s Up AVL!", to inform the community about ongoing projects and initiatives. In a recent episode, host Sam Parada was joined by James Shelton, Community Development Division Manager for the City of Asheville. They discussed the allocation of $225 million awarded to the city through Community Development Building Grant-Disaster Relief (CDBG-DR) funding aimed at recovery efforts.

James Shelton provided insights into how these funds will be received and utilized, emphasizing the importance of community engagement throughout February before implementation begins.

"What’s Up AVL!" broadcasts live on Wednesdays at noon. For those unable to listen in real-time, replays are available on WRES 100.7 FM from 12:30-1:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, previous episodes can be accessed on the City's YouTube channel.
