The Asheville City Council has voted to approve the slate of directors proposed by the Asheville Downtown Improvement District (ADID) at their meeting on April 8. This board will manage the services and operations of ADID, which acts as the operator for the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID).

These appointments are in line with the guidelines of City Council Resolution 24-119, approved on June 11, 2024. This resolution establishes the board's structure for the Downtown BID. The ADID conducted an open call for interested board members, which was promoted by the Asheville Downtown Association, the Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Asheville. The chosen directors meet the representation and composition requirements specified by the resolution.

The new board is aimed at aiding the rollout of services for the Downtown BID, expected this spring. This decision does not have any financial impact on the City.

Further details about the Downtown BID are available on its official page. The Asheville Downtown Association website will also soon provide additional information about ADID and the Downtown BID.
