Asheville City Council meeting scheduled for April 8; agenda and participation details released

The City of Asheville has announced that the upcoming City Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Council Chamber located on the second floor of City Hall at 70 Court Plaza.

The agenda for the meeting is available on the city's website. In accordance with North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.10, the meeting will be conducted in person, but will also be accessible to the public remotely.

The meeting will be live streamed on the city's YouTube Channel and through the City's Virtual Engagement Hub, which can be accessed from the city’s main website.

For those wishing to speak during the meeting, in-person attendance is required, and individuals must sign up at the entrance to the Council Chamber. Comments can also be sent to the Council by email at any time at ashevillenccouncil@ashevillenc.gov.

Interpretive services are available for those attending in person, with requests to be submitted by 5 p.m. on the Friday before the meeting. Presentations intended for the meeting need to be sent to Maggie Burleson at mburleson@ashevillenc.gov by 12 p.m. the day before the meeting.

The City Council will continue to accept remote comments by email and voicemail through the Engagement Hub until 9 a.m. on the day of the meeting. Emails can be sent to ashevillecitycouncilapr82025@publicinput.com, and voicemails can be left at 855-925-2801 using meeting code: 10961.

Those attending the meeting in person can find free parking in the two city employee parking lots along Marjorie Street after 4:30 p.m. on the day of the meeting. The parking locations are the Valley St. Parking Lot at 55 Valley Street and the Marjorie St. Parking Lot at 17 Marjorie Street.
