The regularly scheduled City Council meeting for Tuesday, July 23, will be held at Harrah’s Cherokee Center Banquet Hall at the usual 5:00 p.m. start time. The standard features of live-streaming of the meeting, in-person comment, interpretation upon request, presentations, and email and voicemail comments will still be available to the public.

Details outlining all the features will be posted on the City News website and City of Asheville social media on Friday, July 19, as is the standard meeting notification procedure.

The venue change includes provisions for free parking in the Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville garage for those attending the meeting. The garage entrance is located at 68 Rankin Ave.

Parking procedure:

- Pull a ticket from the kiosk when entering the garage. Take the garage ticket into the meeting with you.

- Obtain a barcode by asking at the public comment sign-in desk for a free parking barcode (sticker) upon either entering or departing the meeting.

- Place the barcode sticker on the back of your parking garage ticket. Participation in public comment is not required to obtain a barcode.

- To exit without charge, first scan the standard parking ticket barcode located on the front of your ticket at the departure kiosk. Then scan the sticker barcode you received at the Council meeting sign-in desk (the sticker placed on the back of your ticket). The second scan will process at the kiosk and allow you to depart without charge.
