Asheville announces upcoming city council meeting with remote participation options

The next meeting of the Asheville City Council will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24. It will take place in the Council Chamber on the 2nd Floor of City Hall, located at 70 Court Plaza.

The agenda for the Council meeting is posted on the City's website.

Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.10, this will be an in-person meeting that the public can also access remotely.

Where to Watch

The City Council meeting will be broadcast live on Charter/Spectrum Channel 193, streamed on the City's YouTube Channel, or through the City's Virtual Engagement Hub accessible via the front page of the City website.

In-Person Comment

Individuals wishing to speak live at the meeting must attend in person and sign up at the door before entering the Council Chamber.

Additionally, comments can be directly emailed to Council at any time at: ashevillenccouncil@ashevillenc.gov.

Interpretation Available Upon Request

If you want to participate in person at the City Council meeting and need interpretive services, please use this form to request services by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024.

Presentations at the Meeting

For those wishing to make a slide or PowerPoint presentation at a formal meeting of the City Council, presentations must be submitted to Maggie Burleson at mburleson@ashevillenc.gov by 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 23.

Email and Voicemail Comments

To accommodate those who do not feel secure attending in person or have other barriers to participating in person, the City Council will continue to accept remote comments via email or voicemail through the Engagement Hub until 9 a.m. on the day of the City Council meeting.

Parking Available

Free parking will be available for attendees in two city employee parking lots along Marjorie Street after 4:30 p.m. on the day of the meeting:

Marjorie St. Parking Lot at 17 Marjorie Street
