The City of Asheville Water Resources Department has been acknowledged by the Asheville Rotary Club during its People of Action Gala. This event celebrated local leaders who exemplify the Rotary mission of "service above self."

The department received recognition in the category of Water Sanitation and Hygiene for its commendable efforts in restoring potable water following Hurricane Helene.

David Melton, Director of Water Resources, expressed his gratitude, stating, “I was honored to accept this prestigious award on behalf of the City of Asheville and the many people who worked tirelessly to aid in the recovery efforts after Tropical Storm Helene.”
