Town of Black Mountain issued the following announcement on Oct. 29.
Highway 70 at Grovestone Rd (where the tracks cross Highway 70 near Ingles Distribution Center) will be closed in both directions to ALL vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle travelers beginning Sunday morning, October 31st at 6:00 AM and remain closed into the late evening of Monday, November 1st.
This will be routine maintenance by Norfolk Southern Railroad to improve the tracks that cross Highway 70. Detour signs will be placed for rerouting.
