Town of Waynesville issued the following announcement on Apr. 28.
The Waynesville Police Department would like to remind you of the importance of designating a sober driver and choosing not to drive after consuming alcohol. This year, the WPD has seen a 137% increase in the number of DWI arrests made, including traffic accidents as a result of an intoxicated driver. Driving while intoxicated not only puts your life in jeopardy but the lives of others as well.
