County of Buncombe issued the following announcement on Aug. 25.
Special Olympics Buncombe County is looking for volunteers to staff a fundraising tent at the Beer City Cup Finals on Sunday, September 4th.
The Beer City Cup is the nation's largest adult soccer tournament that spans Labor Day weekend and is a wonderful fundraising opportunity to support our local Special Olympics athletes.
The money made at this fundraising event goes directly to our local program back to support funding of uniforms, equipment, and trips such as the trip our local Special Olympics soccer team took to Orlando and brought home the silver medal.
There are three time slots available (11:00am-3:00pm, 2:30pm-7:00pm, and 6:30pm-10:30pm where four volunteers are needed in each time slot) please sign up for one at the link below.
