County of Buncombe issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.
November is Native American Heritage Month, and a leading voice on Indigenous rights, Rebecca Nagle, is coming to the Pack Memorial Library for a free talk. She is a member of the Cherokee Nation, a writer, advocate, and the host of the podcast "This Land."
This Land illuminated the success of the Cherokee Nation's (Oklahoma) ability to protect their sovereignty, but Nagle has a stark warning; that the tribal sovereignty her ancestors died for is once again at risk.
The Buncombe County Register of Deeds and The Center for Native Health invite you to join special guest Rebecca Nagle for a talk and discussion at Pack Memorial Library.
