The WNC Nature Center has reopened to the public, marking a significant step in its recovery following Tropical Storm Helene. The staff shared their experiences in a video detailing the challenges faced in the storm's aftermath and highlighted the community's resilience.

"The reopening of our Nature Center is not only a milestone in our recovery, it’s a milestone of hope," they expressed. They acknowledged the support from Asheville residents and neighboring communities who contributed to rebuilding efforts. "Together, we will build back better and thrive."

Gratitude was extended to local partners, volunteers, zoos, and nature centers nationwide for their assistance during this difficult period. "Your generosity and teamwork remind us that resilience is stronger when we come together," they stated.

Visitors are encouraged to visit the center as it embarks on this new beginning. "Our animals—and our team—can’t wait to welcome you back."
