Celebrate Girls and Women in Sports on February 4 | CITY OF ASHEVILLE: (https://www.ashevillenc.gov)
City of Asheville Parks & Recreation Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.
Asheville Parks & Recreation invites the community to National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Carrier Park.
The annual day of learning and encouragement is designed to expose women and girls to a variety of activities that will inspire them to lead through active, healthy lifestyles.
The confidence, strength, and character gained through sports are the very tools girls and women need to become strong leaders.
Open to women and girls ages 6 and up, this is a chance to try new sports and fitness activities or improve on an area of interest.
There is no cost to participate. Clinics are divided into Grades K-3, Grades 4-8, and Grade 9-Adult. Clinics include softball, volleyball, lacrosse, hockey, rugby, and more.

Carrier Park is located on 220 Amboy Road. On-site registration begins at 10 a.m. with the first round of clinics at 10:30 a.m.
